Actor Taapsee Pannu and ace filmmaker Anurag Kashyap have teamed up together for the second time with ‘Dobaaraa’, which will hit the theatres on 19th August. They both are currently busy promoting the same. In a recent interview, Taapsee recalled the time when Anurag scolded her after she told him that she aspires to become a star. The Pink actress revealed that the filmmaker advised her that if she wants to be a star, she should go and work with Rohit Shetty.
Speaking with Indian Express, Taapsee said, “I have told him that I want to be a star, and he has also scolded me. When Anurag and I fought after Dobaaraa’s edit, he said, ‘Why do you work with me? If you want to be a star, go and work with Rohit Shetty!’ But not everyone has the same formula. I want to take a different route to stardom. The 35-year-old actress further explained that as an actor who wants to become a star and she does whatever she could in her capacity. But it is eventually teamwork. Taapsee also confessed to not being into Anurag’s films as she can’t watch that kind of dark genre. “I was definitely not into Anurag’s films. I can’t watch that kind of dark… The only films I saw in theatres were DevD and Gangs of Wasseypur before I entered the Hindi film industry. The kind of films he used to make did not excite me to go and watch them,” Pannu stated.
Taapsee and Anurag had earlier worked together in the 2018 romantic drama Manmarziyaan which garnered a good response from the audience. Besides their professionalism, the duo shares a great bond of friendship.
