Saif Ali Khan has been currently basking in the success of his film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and busy promoting his upcoming film Jawaani Jaaneman. Recently, in an interview, Saif Ali Khan criticized the history behind his successful hit film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, and commented on the history of India. Claiming to have great knowledge of Indian history, the Nawab of Pataudi went on to add how the Britishers gave India a history. After criticizing his own film, Saif Ali Khan got brutally trolled by the Twitterati for his remarks on Indian history.

After Saif Ali Khan criticized his film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, on Twitter, many users tweeted slammed the actor for his remarks. On Twitter, a user wrote, “Here we found one more Rahul Gandi he also India's most popular foolish even he also doesn't know the meaning of NCC  #SaifAliKhan,” calling Saif Ali Khan the second Rahul Gandhi for his comments made on Indian history. Bashing the actor for his comments, another user tweeted, “According to Eminent Historian Saif Ali Khan, #Tanhaji wasn’t historically correct and there was no concept of India until British came. This is what decades of leftist white-wash does. Know your Shivaji, know Chanakya and you would know how old India is.”


One particular Twitterati also called Saif a history buff and mentioned to him that the name of his son Taimur Ali Khan is based on a Turko-Mongol conqueror who devastated much of Asia in the period around 1400.

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan in his interview said that if people say his film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is history, he added that he does not think it is history. 





Sharing how aware he is of his history, Saif explained that he does not think that there was a concept of India till perhaps the British gave it one. The actor added that he does not think there is really any constructive point in arguing about history until you know why you’re doing it.
