Teachers' Day Special: Six Reel Life Gurus That We’d Love To Have In Real Life
Teaching is one of the most understated yet important and fulfilling jobs in the world.  Not only does the teacher guide you, but also shapes the kind of person you become. Even Bollywood has shown some inspiring and fun teachers that we would love to have in our real life too. And as we celebrate Teachers' Day today, let’s take a look at some of them.

Shah Rukh Khan in Mohabbatein
SRK’s look and his violin skills in Mohabbatein stole a lot of hearts, and his tragic love story made us all feel sad for him. As a teacher, Raj Aryan was a students' favourite - even though his moves were a bit risky at times keeping the school rules in mind. Who wouldn’t love a teacher who is a rebel and a mixture of a guide and a friend?

Sushmita Sen in Main Hoon Na
Honestly, there wasn’t a single person in the nation whose heart didn’t skip a beat every time Ms Chandni came on screen in Main Hoon Na. And even though she had a fake student in the form of Shah Rukh Khan’s Ram, she was still very professional until the time she figured out the truth. And who doesn’t want a teacher who sings and dances with you and also gives you a makeover when needed?

Shahid Kapoor in Paathshaala
Shahid is a ripped Greek God now, but even before that he had us all swooning over his cute looks ever since he began his journey in cinema. In Paathshaala, he showed a sensitive and caring portrayal as a teacher, Rahul Udyavar, who doesn’t shy away from fighting for his students. And who wouldn’t want a teacher like that who takes care of you against all odds but also knows how to lift your mood with his singing skills?

Aamir Khan in Taare Zameen Par
Before TZP, more than half of the nation wasn’t even aware about the condition called dyslexia, let alone deal with it. But Aamir in his portrayal showed that even for a kid battling the worst of situations at his age, it just takes a little patience and a helping hand to pull them through it. And we all need a teacher like Ram Shankar Nikumbh, who has that faith in all of us.

Divya Dutta in Stanley Ka Dabba
School students, especially the young ones, need nurturing and love more than tough love or strictness. And it takes a lot of guts to stand up to your own colleagues when they are going in the wrong direction for one of your students. That’s what Divya’s Miss Rosy in Stanley ka Dabba did.

Amitabh Bachchan in Aarakshan
Education should be every kid’s right, no matter where they come from. And every teacher needs to share in that belief and that is what the Big B showed through his portrayal of Prabhakar Anand in Aarakshan. And who wouldn’t love to have a dedicated teacher like that, who puts everything aside just to focus on your education?

There is one more name that belongs in this list, but we don’t need to wish for it to be true in real life as his story came from real to reel life. And that is Hrithik Roshan’s Anand Kumar in Super 30. Just like shown in the film, Anand put everything he had on the line for his students and continues to do so, without expecting anything in return. And that is the dedication towards your students’ education every teacher must have.
