Kangana Ranaut has interesting projects in the pipeline. One of her films many are looking forward to is Thalaivi. A few days ago, Thalaivi's trailer came out and it received a great response from netizens. Kangana nailed it and how! As many know, Thalaivi traces the journey of legendary actor-politician J Jayalalithaa from films to politics. The first song of Thalaivi titled 'Chali Chali' is also out. The song shows J Jayalalithaa's journey in the Indian cinema. It has Kangana Ranaut recreating many looks of the late star, starting from her debut movie.

A Twitter user recently shared a video that shows J Jayalalithaa's scenes and Kangana's from Chali Chali and wrote, "Real Thalaivi vs Reel Thalaivi Kangana Ranaut", to which Kangana responded saying, "lovely edit, Jaya maa was 16 years old here, for the very first time against her wish she faced camera cause she was the only bread winner of her family, while shooting this song my heart would ache thinking of this bright young minor who had a scholarship but couldn't study."

Chali Chali has been sung by Saindhavi Prakash and its lyrics are penned by Irshad Kamil. The song received a positive response from the audience. She even shared the original track of Jayalalithaa on Twitter and wrote, "Thank you for giving so much love to Chali - chali, lot of Hindi speaking people asking was Jayaa maa so beautiful in her debut song? Well I am not a patch on her, here is her debut song link, Chali chali is fashioned after ammmamma kaatru have a look."

Directed by AL Vijay, Thalaivi also stars Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, and Jisshu Sengupta. Apart from Thalaivi, Kangana's other upcoming movies include Dhaakad and Tejas.
