Thalaivi traces the journey of legendary actor-politician J Jayalalithaa from films to politics. Going by the trailer, Kangana has absolutely nailed it and how! It shows her relationship with MG Ramachandra (played by Arvind Swami) and how she stood her ground and won people's hearts as an independent leader. There are many powerful scenes in the movie and some hard-hitting dialogues as well. Kangana's performance as J Jayalalithaa has left many fans beyond excited for the movie. Directed by AL Vijay, Thalaivi also stars Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, and Jisshu Sengupta.

She started as an actress who the masses loved and went on to become a leader who the masses looked up to."
