Thalaivii: J Jayalalithaa Wanted Aishwarya Rai Bachchan And Not Kangana Ranaut, To Play Her Role
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has repeatedly proved her mantle with impeccable performances in all her films. The talented actress is known for her film choices and challenging transformations for the portrayal of her characters. The 34-year-old actress is on cloud nine ever since her first look as the Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalithaa was released. Kangana has been garnering praise for her performance in ‘Thalaivii’, and owing to her massive transformation, we’d say she definitely deserves it.

However, to everyone’s surprise, late J Jayalalithaa wished Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play her role.

Veteran actress Simi Garewal, in a recent Tweet, spoke of the late Former Chief Minister’s wishes and stated that although she doesn’t approve of Kangana’s radical comments, she supports her acting talent.

Garewal recently attended a special screening of the film by Kangana and revealed that if Jayalalithaa wanted Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play her role - to avoid any controversy - the veteran actress also mentioned that J Jayalalithaa would have approved of Kangana’s portrayal.

She wrote, “Altho I do not support #KanganaRanaut's radical comments..I do support her acting talent. In #Thailavii she gives it her heart & soul! Jaya-ji wanted Aishwarya to play her..my hunch is JJ wud hv approved of Kangana's portrayal. As for @thearvindswamy he is MGR reincarnate!!”

Garewal, replying to a comment on her tweet, went on to praise Arvind Swamy as well. She wrote, “You forget he is Arvind Swamy! You believe he REALLY is MGR! But they left out JJ's childhood..I wish they hadn't. It would have had a stronger impact in the story of Jayalalithaa.. but that's only my opinion.”

Based on the life of late Jayalalithaa, Thalaivii depicts the varied aspects of her life, tracing her journey as an actress at a young age to becoming the Face of Tamil Cinema as well as the rise of the revolutionary leader that changed the course of Tamil Nadu Politics.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana Ranaut has an interesting line-up of films which includes, Dhaakad co-starring Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta. The actress will also be seen in ‘Tejas’ where she will be essaying the role of an Air Force Pilot.
