Thappad: Taapsee Pannu Asks All To Sign A Petition Demanding Disclaimer On Violence Against Women In Films
Taapsee Pannu is known to do films that are socially relevant and have a message to share. Her upcoming film too is one hard-hitting one. Titled Thappad, it is about the domestic violence a woman suffers at the hands of her husband. Even if it is one slap, it equates to domestic violence and it is not cool. Thappad is about a woman fighting against the violence and the trauma she goes through. On this note, Taapsee has made another move in which she is asking for a big change.

Taapsee Pannu has requested all her followers to sign a petition that talks about broadcasting disclaimers when a scene depicting violence against women appears in films. When Smoking and Drinking is injurious to health, so is domestic violence. She has shared a video with the caption, "Disclaimer ! Kya Thappad pe disclaimer aana bas itni si baat hai? Agar nahi toh petition sign kijiye #Thappad I support the @ChangeOrg_India petition asking CBFC to make it mandatory for movies depicting violence against women to carry disclaimers Change.org/EkThappad."

In the video we see Taapsee's husband talking to his boss, frustrated and drinking. Then he goes on to smoke. When Taapsee asks him to stop, he lifts his hand to slap her. But Taapsee pauses and asks why no disclaimer for this. Watch the video below:

Thappad directed by Anubhav Sinha releases on February 28. It stars Pavail Gulati as Taapsee Pannu's husband in the film. The trailer has received a thumbs up from critics and audiences, and we are now looking forward to watching the film in theatres.
