The Kashmir Files traced the story of Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to migrate from their own land by the Islamic militants in 1990. Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial has received massive love, appreciation, and overwhelming response not from the audience and critics, but also from Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, who said that more films like this need to be made so that people can know the truth.

The film that stars legendary actor Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumaar are also getting accolades from the viewers for doing justice with the characters they portrayed. Among all, Anupam Kher’s brilliant performance in the film has left the audience mesmerized. He is been called the ‘true soul’ of the movie. The Special 26 actor plays the role of Pushkar Nath Pandit whose family in the movie faced violence by the Islamic militants. Recently a netizen compared Anupam Kher’s blue paint face from the movie to Heath Ledger’s Joker who also had painted his face in the movie. The poster reads, 'Performances that world will never forget.' The actor is flattered by the love and showed gratitude towards the comparison drawn by the user. A Wednesday actor took to his Twitter handle and re-shared the fan’s post. The actor wrote, "Anonymous compliments are the best because you know they aren't trying to gain anything out of it!! Thank you my anonymous friend for making this. I am delighted to see it! #TheKashmirFiles @vivekagnihotri."


‘The Kashmir Files’ was released on 11th March, 2022 and several states have declared it tax-free.
