Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been making headlines ever since it was announced. Now when the film has been released, it continues to grab eyeballs. Speaking of this, recently the film attracted controversy after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal made some insensitive remarks about the film. He was slammed by several netizens and actor Anupam Kher.

For the unversed, the Delhi CM during an assembly session demanded Vivek Agnihotri to upload the film on Youtube so that it becomes free for everyone to watch instead of making it tax-free. Reacting to the statement Anupam Kher slammed Delhi CM for his remarks and called it crude, insensitive, and shameful.




 Now, in a recent interaction with Times Now, Arvind Kejriwal said that his statement was presented in the wrong way. CM Kejriwal was quoted saying, "Kashmir Hindus ke saath bahut bada anayaay hua, wo bahut badi trasadi thi. Kai logo ki jaane gayi, kai logo ko apne ghar chhod ke jaana pada."

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal attracted backlash on social media after he accused the BJP leaders of "promoting" the movie. 


The Kashmir Files is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits who faced brutality, grief, and pain while living in the valley during the 80s and 90s by Islamic militants. The film has garnered immense love and appreciation from not only fans but Bollywood is also left in awe of Vivek’s film. From Aamir Khan to Akshay Kumar, many have applauded the movie saying every Indian needs to watch it.
