The Mindset Of The Supporters Of My Skin Tone Dig: A Girl Wearing Short Clothes Is Bound To Be RAPED
This morning in a section of the media, Krushna Abhishek defended Comedy Nights Bachao, a show that he co-hosts, after Tannishtha Chatterjee rued its 'racist" ways of running down her skin tone.

But a few hours ago, he apologised to Tannishtha to another section of the media!

His morning statement read: Tannishtha is going overboard. She is doing this for publicity. We always meet the actors before they come on the show. I had asked her if she had seen the show before and if she was familiar with our (roast) concept. She said she hadn't seen the show. She hadn't watched even AIB Roast. If she didn't know what it was, she shouldn't have come on the show. Secondly, we gave more importance to Radhika Apte who is a bigger star. That must have also been a problem for Tannishtha.

His evening statement reads: I don't know what hurt Tannishtha, because I wasn't performing then. But I apologise if it has hurt her, though it wasn't a deliberate attempt.

Tannishtha is definitely not amused.

Still very much hurt, Tannishtha told SpotboyE.com a few minutes ago, "Many people are just not getting it. They are saying 'Toh kya hua? Roast show hai. Tujhe toh pata tha roast honewala hai'. I shall put out another post of my reaction to all this. It's so menacing. The mindset of the supporters of the dig at my skin tone is: 'A girl wearing short clothes is bound to be RAPED'. And this is being said on the Facebook .It only exemplifies that we don't live in a civilised society. Then accept that na? And this mindset is really so lame."

When asked about Krushna's allegation that 'her outburst has been the outcome of she feeling left out because they were focusing more on Radhika Apte since she is a bigger star', Tannishtha shot back: "The issue is something else. We love to trivialise the main problem by often barking up the wrong tree.

I have voiced my democratic opinion about a very deep and disturbing prejudice in our country. That's that."

So, why is Krushna defending the unpleasant incident when he was not the one who said those comments? Was he told by Colors? Then why did he do a U-turn? Did Colors later think that since they had apologised earlier, such a blasphemous statement by Krishna in the morning papers would backfire?

The truth of the matter is that Krushna's co-host Bharti Singh was the offender. "It's not about who said what. The issue is much bigger, I repeat,"  said Tannishtha.

So, did Leena really hug Krishna and dance after Tannishtha was dealt with the "racist comment" as Krushna says? "Why don't you ask her this question? I really don't want to say anything more than this," Tannishtha concluded.

When contacted, Leena said, "I don't want to react to what Krushna is saying about me. It's not about my exit moment. It's about content which is so loosely being let out. Should any content in the media be let out without supervision? Content is always very sensitive, be it any form."

Added Leena, "I completely stand by Tannishtha. If I had seen the format and tonality of Comedy Nights Bachao show before, I may not have gone for it. I wish I knew, then I wouldn't have had to bear the sentiments of my film's actress being hurt. As a producer and director of Parched, I could have asked Tannishtha to stay back--- but I did not. Does that set the record staright?

Team Comedy Nights Bachao could have made fun of us in 10 different ways other than the "racism comment", it is clear they knew nothing about the film, and nothing about Tannishtha's work either. Why is research not done before people meet up celebrities or make their scripts?"

Ponder a while: Was Krushna told by Colors to lash out at Tannishtha? And then it all backfired which led Colors to tell him to apologise to Tannishtha? Why the volte-face?

And now the all-important question: Why did Colors throw out their apology (in a tweet, see below) and clearly blame the producer (Optimystix, Vipul D Shah) for the "racist comment"? Is that 'responsibility taken'? "I think TV works in a set-up which is simply 'race against time'. But Colors must take the responsibility for whatever happened on their show that day," Leena concluded.
