Ace celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani reveals the origin behind Vicky Kaushal’ suave leather jacket in this year’s calendar shoot
Ace photographer Dabboo Ratnani’s annual Bollywood calendar has been a long running tradition of the industry for more than two decades now. The who’s who of Bollywood feature in the annual edition each year in their most hot and sexy avatars. Every year we get 24 extremely breath-taking stills from the collection.
Usually, Dabboo launches the collection early in the year with a grand launch party, but this year due to Covid, the launch got delayed and it’s all happening currently and virtually. By now, Dabboo has released the stills of Vidya Balan, Vicky Kaushal, Abhishek Bachchan, Sunny Leone, Tara Sutaria, Vijay Deverakonda, Saif Ali Khan, Ananya Panday and Kiara Advani.
In Vicky Kaushal’s pic, the suave actor is shown posing in a black and white picture with a leather jacket whilst sporting a tattoo. But there is a story behind that jacket that Dabboo reveals to Spotboye.com in an exclusive conversation. The photographer starts by raving about the actor and how he is behind the scenes. “Once Vicky gets into the zone, he is extremely spontaneous and enthusiastic,” he says.
Dabboo goes on to share that the story of the leather jacket began with Vicky’s photoshoot for last year’s edition, which marked his debut in Dabboo’s annual calendar. “For the last year’s edition, we were shooting with Vicky in December. It was really cold weather then and we had put him in a pool filled with cold water and to add to that, it was on the terrace of a building. He was literally shivering so much that we had to give him coffee to keep him warm. But still, he managed to look really hot and sexy,” he shares.
That’s why, to compensate for keeping him in the cold last year, this year Dabboo decided to keep him warm and cosy. “So, this year we gave him a leather jacket, telling him that we are keeping him warm from last year,” he quips.
