THE SHOCKING TRUTH: Shahid Kapoor had NOT maintained his swimming pool, not even chlorinated it
It could be one of those things which we are all victims of: It can't happen to me. So while Shahid Kapoor is (unarguably) concerned at the findings of the BMC (discovery of dengue breeding mosquitoes) inside his swimming pool, the truth of the matter is that the Haider actor had NOT taken any care to maintain his pool.

A case of 'Shutting the Stable Door after the Horse has Bolted'? Precisely.

Talking EXCLUSIVELY to SpotboyE.com a few minutes ago, the Insecticide Officer of the Civic Body, Rajan Narangigekar   spilled the beans: There are 2 defaulters in the Parneeta Apts where Vidya Balan and Shahid stay- Shahid Kapoor (who stays on the ground floor) and Meera Patel (who has a terrace flat).

Explaining what Shahid failed to do, Narangigekar said, "Every pool has a valve which has to be opened to drain the rain water. That valve in Shahid's pool was closed. We found about 2 to 3 inches of standing rain water on Shahid's swimming pool. If Shahid had kept that valve open, there would have been no accumulation whatsoever."

Elaborating on Shahid's carelesness, the officer added, "There had been NO chlorination done in the pool either since quite some time. Clearly, Shahid has not been using the pool much. If chlorination had been done despite the valve remaining closed, the dengue mosquitoes would have still not thrived."

So what has Shahid told them? "Nothing, he wasn't around when we went to his building. We could only interact with his manager," revealed Narangigekar.

"The time has come when we all must get together, especially celebrities and hotels who have fancy pools, to ensure that there is no stagnant water anywhere for more than 6-7 days, else we are only creating a fertile ground for dengue mosquitoes," says a source from BMC.

Coming to the findings in the terrace flat as disclosed to SpotboyE.com by Narangigekar: "It is not Vidya's fault (the actress is down with dengue since the past 3 days). The resident who stays above Vidya, Meera Patel, had kept a plastic plate below a flower pot. The water which accumulated in the tray was the culprit. There was also a plastic sheet put up on the terrace which had standing water that tested positive for dengue."

And now? "Well, now we have ordered Shahid's pool to be emptied and cleaned. And of course, we have treated the pool for the germs. And, the plastic sheet and the tray on the terrace have been taken away. Above all, we have issued a notice to Shahid Kapoor and Meera Patel for not taking preventive measures," the officer concluded.
