This Actor Will Join Shahid Kapoor In Imtiaz Ali’s Next

Ten years after
Shahid Kapoor collaborated with Imtiaz Ali to deliver one of most memorable
films of our times – Jab We Met -- the actor recently revealed that he is all
set to work with the director again.

has it that the project will feature another established name alongside Shahid
– Rajkummar Rao.
Says a source,
“Rajkummar Rao has had a fantastic 2017. He has been lauded for his
performances in Bareilly Ki Barfi and Newton. He fits the bill perfectly. The
female lead is yet to be decided.”
Confirming a
reunion with his Jab We Met director, Shahid had recently said, “Yes, we are
going to do something soon together and I am really excited. I think Imtiaz is
a phenomenally talented filmmaker and we made a film together towards the
beginning of both my and Imtiaz’s career and it’s something still people talk
about. Jab We Met is very very special and to work with the guy, who gave me
Aditya Kashyap and whose work I have loved over the years, will be amazing. The
subject that he has is very different from what we have done in the past. It is
very exciting and interesting. Right after Batti Gull, thats what I am going to
do.”
While Rajkummar
has noteworthy films to his credit in 2017, Imtiaz Ali delivered one of this
year’s biggest disappointments in the form of Jab Harry Met Sejal starring Shah
Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma.
Will the
Imtiaz-Shahid jodi strike box-office gold again? Time will tell.
