Twitterati Brands Taapsee Pannu ‘Hypocrite Of The Century’ After She Backs Anurag Kashyap: ‘What Happened To #BelieveAllWomen?’
Actress Payal Ghosh recently alleged that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had tried to force himself on her, and she urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take action against Kashyap. Responding to this, Anurag Kashyap called the #MeToo accusation leveled against him ‘baseless’. Soon after, Anurag Kashyap’s friend Taapsee Pannu, who has worked with him in films such as Manmarziyaan, Saand Ki Aankh, came out in support of Anurag Kashyap, saying that he is the biggest feminist she knows. However, her post backing Anurag hasn’t gone down well with Twitterati, who called her out for being a hypocrite.

In her post, Taapsee Pannu wrote, “For you, my friend , are the biggest feminist I know. See you on the sets soon of yet another piece of art that shows how powerful and significant women are in the world you create :).” Soon, Twitterati dug out her old tweets about the #MeToo movement, where she asked people to stop celebrating #MeToo accused. They also made references to her recent ‘Smash The patriarchy’ post, which she shared in a show of solidarity with Rhea Chakraborty.

One user wrote, “Hypocrite of the decade  @taapsee,” while another one wrote, “Awww  @taapsee so good to see you #SmashPatriarchy by ‘celebrating the accused and guilty to begin with’. How did you achieve such exquisite levels of #hypocrisy though?” Take a look:

In a tweet from October 2018, Taapsee Pannu had written, “I don’t think this #MeToo can reach any productive conclusion until we stop celebrating the accused and guilty to begin with. And embarrassment becomes even more when women themselves don’t stand by this movement and rather go against it. It could’ve been you! #NotDone.” ALSO READ: Anurag Kashyap Says Parineeti Chopra Rejected Hasee Toh Phasee With Sushant Singh Rajput As He Was A TV Actor
