Uttarakhand Glacier Burst: Shraddha Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Bhumi Pednekar, Sonu Sood And Others Offer Prayers For People Of Uttarakhand
A glacial burst in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district led to an avalanche and massive flooding along the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers on Sunday. Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Om Prakash told news agency ANI that around 100 to 150 people may have been killed. As soon as the tragic news hit the Internet, Bollywood celebrities such as Shraddha Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Bhumi Pednekar, Sonu Sood, Shreyas Talpade. and other Bollywood celebs offered prayers for those affected by the Uttarakhand glacier burst.

Shraddha Kapoor took to her Twitter account and wrote, “Distressing to hear about the glacier breaking off in #Uttarakhand. Praying everyone’s safety there.” Dia Mirza tweeted, “Building too many dams in the Himalayas has lead to this. Prayers for the people of Chamoli. Please contact Disaster Operations Center number 1070 or 9557444486 for help. #Uttarakhand.” She further added, “What is the connection with what is happening in #Uttrakhand right now and cutting trees (deforestation), cutting into our mountains, building dams combined with climate change? - Innocent , unsuspecting people get hurt.”

Sonu Sood tweeted,  “Uttarakhand, hum aapke saath hai (we are with you),” while Nushrratt Bharuccha tweeted, “Saddened to know about the the glacier burst in #Uttarakhand which has caused 150 labourers to go missing! Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that he is closely monitoring the situation in Uttarakhand. His tweet read,  “Am constantly monitoring the unfortunate situation in Uttarakhand. India stands with Uttarakhand and the nation prays for everyone’s safety there. Have been continuously speaking to senior authorities and getting updates on NDRF deployment, rescue work and relief operations.”
