He is currently in the UAE and has turned a commentator. And by the virtue of the job, he recently had a fan moment as he met the legendary cricketer Brian Lara. The Fukrey actor shared a photo with him on Instagram and his caption summed up his happiness.

Earlier while speaking to ANI, Varun opened up about his meeting with the veteran sportsperson and said, "They said legends are great for a reason. Brian Lara is so kind and warm. I was obviously excited to see him and he gauged that I have followed his work keenly. He was wonderful. We chatted about cricket and who's faring well this season. His experience and expertise made me realise a lot of keen things which I had overlooked. I hope to see him again through the next few days."
Explaining what it means to be a part of the IPL, Varun said, "I feel happy and blessed that I'm getting a chance to be a part of the biggest cricket league in the country. It's super fun and I'm having a great time."
