Legendary actor Dilip Kumar is no more. The actor passed away on Wednesday. He had been witnessing age-related health issues for the last days and had also been admitted to the hospital multiple times due to it. For the uninitiated, he was admitted to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of Mumbai's Hinduja hospital last month. The actor's wife Saira Banu had been by his side throughout and kept his fans updated about his health.
Dr. Jalil Parkar confirmed the news of his death. Speaking to Indian Express, he revealed that the legendary actor passed away at 7.30 am on Wednesday. 'He passed away due to prolonged illness. He was 98,' added Parkar.
Faisal Farooqui shared the news of his death on the actor's official Twitter account. He tweeted, 'With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return. - Faisal Farooqui.'
Saira Banu's last tweet read, 'We are grateful for God's infinite mercy on Dilip Sahib that his health is improving. We are still in hospital and request your prayers and duas so that Insha'Allah he is healthy and discharged soon. Saira Bau Khan.' The legendary actor is now survived by his wife Saira Banu. Dilip Kumar was one of the greatest actors, who inspired many in the industry. Some of his best known films are Devdas, Mughal-e-Azam, Ganga Jamuna, Ram Aur Shyam, Kranti and more.
