Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif took everyone by surprise after they shared their dreamy wedding photos, announcing their marriage on social media. On 9 December 2021, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in the presence of their family members and a few close friends. But do you know Vicky had met Katrina for the first time when he jokingly proposed marriage to her at an award show? Yes, you read that right!
Back in 2019, the Raazi actor was hosting an award show with Ayushmann Khurrana when he proposed to Kaif on the stage after she collected her award. Vicky, who is currently busy promoting his film ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ in a recent interview shared it was in the script that he would propose to whichever actress would come on stage. And much to his surprise, Katrina Kaif came to collect her award. Vicky stated, “Wo, actually kisi ko pta nhi hai. Baad me clip jo famous hua wo bas mere aur Katrina ka tha, aur tabhi hum pehli baar mile the, but uss film award me joke ye tha ki jo b heroine aa rhi thi stage pe toh usko yahi line bolna tha. For the unversed, at the award night when Katrina went to the stage to receive her award, Vicky told her, “Aap kisi acche se Vicky Kaushal ko dhoondh ke shaadi kyun nahi kar leti (Why don’t you find Vicky Kaushal and get married)?” He added, “Shaadi ki season chal raha hai toh mujhe laga aapka bhi man kar raha hoga toh pooch leta hoon. To this, the Tiger Zinda Hai actress replied asking, “Kya (What)?” The video of the same went viral back then.
Reportedly, Vicky and Katrina dated for a few years before getting hitched. The couple kept their relationship secret from the media until they got married.
Meanwhile, the Uri actor’s film ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ with Sara Ali Khan releases today, June 2 in the theatres. The movie marks the duo’s first onscreen collaboration and their sizzling chemistry in the trailer received thumbs-up from fans!
