Cricket fans are curious if Virat Kohli will grace the pitch in IPL 2023 and ahead of this year’s T20 franchise cricket league, the Indian cricketer visited Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain with his actor-wife Anushka Sharma. Many pictures and videos of the couple sitting inside the temple along with other devotees. Both Virat and Anushka sat together in a corner as Virat interacted with one of the priests.
The cricketer’s visit at the temple comes amid the third test match between India and Australia that concluded within the span of three days; Australia won the third Test by nine wickets.
In a now-viral video, both Anushka and Virat can be seen sitting together inside Mahakaleshwar Temple. The Virat wore white and he seemed to keep his head down as he prayed with the priest sitting beside him. In one instance the priest leaned in and talked to the cricketer. Another video showed the couple sitting in the temple with the rest of the devotees.
Previously, Anushka and Virat had paid visits to the temples in Uttarakhand and Vrindavan together and they were also joined by their daughter Vamika.
The couple are often seen speaking fondly about each other. On a recent podcast by Danish Sait, Virat spoke about another side of life that she got to see after meeting Anushka. He said, “When I met Anushka… I saw a different side of life. It wasn’t the same as my environment. It was a different perspective, a different point-of-view. When you fall in love, you start processing those changes within you, as well. Because you have to move together, and to do that you have to open yourself up, you have to accept a lot of things… You share ideas, you share perspectives, which I had never seen in my life.”
Anushka and Virat were married in 2017 in an intimate ceremony in Italy after dating for some years. They welcomed daughter Vamika in January 2021.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Anushka’s last lead role was in the 2018 film Zero along with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. She recently had a cameo appearance in Netflix's Qala.
Anushka will next be seen in Chakda Xpress, which is based on the life of cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The film is slated to be released this year on Netflix.
