Vivek Oberoi Opens Up On Rejecting Munna Bhai MBBS, Comparison With Shah Rukh Khan And His Experience Of Working With Thala Ajith

Vivek Oberoi is one of the most loved stars in Bollywood. The actor recently completed 19 years in Bollywood. Yes, you read it right! He made his acting debut with Ram Gopal Verma's Company and later went on to star in many films. The actor has had his share of ups and downs in his acting career. Recently, in an interview with Pinkvilla, looking back at some of the moments, Vivek opened about being compared with Shah Rukh Khan, his experience working with south star Thala Ajith and more.
Soon after the release of his movie Saathiya, Vivek was compared with SRK. Talking about the same, Vivek said, "I grew up watching Shah Rukh and was a huge fan. These are things that happen, and you don't take them seriously. You need to focus on your roles, and build your own brand rather than being compared and labelled. Shah Rukh Khan was already half way a legend in 2002, already a great. He is the greatest success story of all time in Hindi cinema. You can't compare."
The actor also further shared his experience of working with Thala Ajith. Vivek said, "We referred to each other as Nanba in the film, which is the Tamil equivalent of Mere Bhai, Mere Dost. Somewhere, we connected in real life too." He then added that they became close and 'that started reflecting on and off screen. It was an amazing experience to see that kind of madness." He even called him a phenomenal biker and an all-rounder, 'one of the nicest guys I know in the Indian film industry.'
For the uninitiated, Vivek Oberoi was first offered Munna Bhaii MBBS. Talking about the same, Vivek said, "For whatever reasons I couldn't do Munna Bhai. But after it became what it is, there are some roles you watch an actor play and you feel that this role was written for that actor and no matter how much you wanted to be that role, the actors performed it so well, that you feel like nobody can do this better." Vivek Oberoi further mentioned that he feels nobody can do it better than Sanjay Dutt.
