A hot air balloon featuring superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 avatars has finally made it to the Hollywood sky and is flying over the famous signage in Los Angeles, California.

Raju Mahalingam of Lyca Productions posted a picture of the hot air balloon flying brilliantly near the iconic sign. The team had announced earlier that the testing of the balloon was complete and they were waiting for the weather clearance.
This is surely an innovative idea to promote a film. Of course, the fans are elated to see the life size images of their iconic stars Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar fly over Hollywood. Just when they were getting ready for the ride, Raju tweeted, “Thalaivar set to fly high in the sky...”

The idea of putting a movie poster on a hot air balloon takes movie promotions to a whole new level. This same balloon will be travelling to some of the popular hot-air balloon shows, and will travel to London, Dubai, a few South-East Asian countries, Australia and then reach India. The next stop is expected to be San Francisco.

About 600 man hours have been spent in the making of this balloon, which has used 12 kilometres of thread which makes it 1500 yards of fabric.
2.0 is shot entirely in India. Directed by Shankar, 2.0 also stars Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in pivotal roles. The film has music by Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman and will hit theatres on January 25, 2018.
