Sonu Sood opened up about why he decided to rewrite his character from Salman Khan starrer Dabangg
Over the years, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has garnered a huge fan base for his exceptional acting chops. From being a chocolate boy to his comic timing and playing some of the greatest villains in movies, the actor has shown a lot of versatility in his career. It is safe to say that no matter the role, he always manages to steal the show, one such movie being Salman Khan starrer Dabangg.
The actor played the character of a corrupt political leader Chedi Singh in the movie. However, it was during a recent interview with the new agency ANI, he revealed that he had first rejected the role because his character was very arrogant. He went on to express how he did the movie being fully aware that the spotlight of the movie will be mostly on Salman. He spoke about how he always has a criteria, that even if other heroes have more scenes, he will do his best to stand out. ALSO READ: VIRAL! The 49-year-old went on to reveal that he had re-written Chedi Singh’s character after rejecting it the first time. Speaking about how he made an arrogant character into a comical one, quoted by Indian Express, he said, “Dabangg ke maine bahut saare scenes likhe. Aur maine character ko badla tha. Pehle voh bahut hi arrogant aur ekdum faad dunga, jaan le lunga, aise type ka character tha. In the same interview, he also spoke about how he has been offered many positions in politics, after he was termed as a ‘messiah’ during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was hailed by the citizens for getting out in the streets to help the needy reach their homes while the entire world was on a lockdown. Sood went on to share that he never accepted any offers as he is not interested in joining politics.
