Filmmaker Apurva Asrani makes a shocking revelation that Sushant Singh Rajput was portrayed as having mental issues
Film editor-screenwriter Apurva Asrani has made some shocking revelations pertaining to Bollywood launching campaigns against late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. In a recent interview, he claimed that SSR was portrayed as having mental issues and that he was slowly isolated from the film industry. Not just that Aprva even mentioned that the actor was “snubbed at awards” and was “harangued right till the end.” Asrani’s explosive revelations came after PeeCee revealed she was corned in the industry.
Speaking with Hindustan Times, the filmmaker stated, "Sushant was snubbed at awards. His last film may have done a whopping 100 crores but it was projected as a flop. He spoke intelligently, but they portrayed his words like he had mental issues. He was harangued right till the end and the worst part is, we could hardly see the truth. Aprurva went on to allege that Bollywood has its favorite and they use campaigns to discredit an actor. “These egos call other egos and tell them not to work with this person. They then use the media and powerful journalists to run campaigns to discredit this person. Blind articles are written by corrupt scribes who make damaging accusations. False stories are planted about inappropriate behaviour on set,” he further stated.
Talking about Priyanka, Apurva Asrani claimed that there was a campaign in the industry against her. Despite delivering blockbusters like Barfi and Agneepath, the front page of a city daily printed an article with a headline declaring that no hero wanted to work with Priyanka.
During her appearance on Dax Shepard’s podcast, Priyanka left everyone shocked after she said she was tired of politics in the industry and that she was being pushed into a corner in the Hindi cinema. The Baywatch actress even stated there were people who refused to cast her.
