It has been over two months since Rabir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra was released. Even though the movie has been garnering mixed reviews from the audience, especially after it was released on OTT platforms, the fans are eager to know more details about the second instalment of the film.
Ever since the release of the Ayan Mukerji directorial, fans have been speculating on names from the industry that would essay the roles of Amrita and Dev, Shiva’s parents. While Deepika Padukone’s name has been a constant in playing the role of Amrita, it is Dev’s character that has gotten the audience riled up. From Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh to KGF Chapter 2 star Yash, the speculations have been endless.
The latest name to join the bandwagon is Vijay Deverakonda. If reports are to be believed, Karan Johar is keen on casting Vijay as Dev in the sci-fi fantasy film. It was reported that the filmmaker wanted to launch the Arjun Reddy star in Bollywood with a big hit, but since his debut movie Liger turned out to be a dud, he wants to ensure that the actor gets his well-deserved hit in Bollywood. While there has been no confirmation on any of the names that are floating around the rumour mills, it doesn’t take long for simple speculations to turn into breaking news. If a report by BollywoodLife is to be believed, the 33-year-old actor hasn’t been approached for the role. Putting all the speculations to rest, a source told BollywoodLife that Ayan is still busy finalising the script.
Being a director who likes to take his time with research, he has yet to decide how to move forward with the script. According to the reports, it will take the director months to complete the storyline, and only after it is finalised will he begin searching for actors who will fit the bill of his new characters. According to an exclusive story done by ETimes, a source commenting on the same said, "Does anyone even believe these fantasy vomits? If I was a writer I would be too tired to laugh. Let them select one hero every three days for Brahamastra 2. The team will make its announcement when they find the actor."
Ayan Mukerji's directorial Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is the first part of his triology, Astraverse. Released in September 2022, the movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Shah Rukh Khan, and Nagarjuna Akkineni in pivotal roles. The movie follows the journey of Shiv and Isha as they try to uncover the truth behind Shiv’s relationship with fire.
