Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma has been ruling the headlines for being a pillar of strength for her husband Virat Kohli, throughout the World Cup 2023 tournament. Not only did she celebrate all his success but even consoled him when India lost the finals against Australia. Apart from being a loving wife, she has also made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Known for her versatile performances, she has reportedly been on good terms with actress Deepika Padukone. Well, an old video of her dismissing the question about the latter’s first look from Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Padmaavat has resurfaced, leaving netizens with mixed reactions.

It all happened in 2018 when Deepika’s first look from Padmaavat was released by the makers. It became a huge talking point on the internet with everyone hailing praises on the actor. When asked about it during a media interaction at an event, Anushka dodged answering the question by stating that she has been working in a no-network zone when the poster was dropped. As quoted by Bollywood Shaadis, in the video shared Filmy Mantra Media, she was heard saying, “Aaj jahan pe mere shooting chal rahi thi, wahan pe zero network tha. Main kaafi khush thi. Kyuki mujhe laga ye jo dunia hai, jahan pe network nahi hai, aur log aapko nahi pohch sakte. Aapke phone mein naa calls aarahi hain, naa messages. Aapko pata hi nahi dunia mein kya ho raha hai. So, unfortunately or fortunately maine kuch dekha nahi hai. But abhi main apni jaan kari thodi badaungi. Fir jab hum agli baar milenge toh hum vartalap kar saktein hain.”


While a few fans hailed her for her ‘savage and witty’ reply, many called her out for being jealous of the 37-year-old actress. One wrote, “Why give such an elaborate answer..sirf nai dekha abhi would suffice.” Another wrote, “Jalan itni ki kuch bhi kahani bna lo bus taarif na karo.” Other one wrote, “There’s difference between being smart and trying to be smart. Anushka fails miserably even trying to be smart!.” One commented, “Keh deti abi nhi deki bajaye itna lamba kissa sunane ki aesi dunya jaha network nhi, ye tu mera basement b hai lol.” Another commented, “Come on guys ,she knows that she can't match DP's level. For those who don’t know, it has been heavily reported that the actresses have been indulged in a cold war every time they dodge each other at the awards shows and events. As Bollywood Shaadis, their rivalry began when Anushka had once termed Deepika’s husband Ranveer Singh as a ‘dirty boy,’ which did not sit well with the actress. 

On the work front, last seen in Zero, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma has Chakda Xpress in her pipeline. She will be seen essaying the role of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami in the upcoming sports film. Set to stream on Netflix, the movie is directed by Prosit Roy.
