Last year, in a viral video, Sonu Nigam had exposed the truth of the singing reality shows.
In the video, Sonu Nigam was seen interacting with popular filmmaker Vivek Rajan Agnihotri and exposed the truth behind the singing reality shows. The singer said, 'There are lots of shows, where the songs played are dubbed. They don't want to show the faltered scene, they show it by correcting it,' referring to a part where judges point out contestants faltering while performng their rendition.
He also accused music companies of favouring their singers by playing only their songs. 'Music companies ask the producers to play this song and not that song citing it as against their company policy.' He further added that the music companies promote their artists even though other artists are equally talented,' said Sonu.
A few days ago, singer Abhijeet Sawant accused the makers of Hindi singing reality shows for focusing on the contestants' tragic stories more than their talent. While speaking to Aaj Tak, he said, 'These days, the makers are more interested in whether the participant can polish shoes or how poor he is, rather than their talent.'
