When SRK Feared A Public Spanking From Jaya Bachchan!
At the opening ceremony of Kolkata International Film Festival, as SRK attempted to give a speech in Bengali, he started with an interesting statutory warning
Shah Rukh Khan was joined by Kajol, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Parineeti Chopra and West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee on stage at the inauguration of the Kolkata International Film Festival.

And King Khan, was in his charming element again as he attempted an entire three minute speech in Bengali. And just before he started the speech, came this warning: This may not sound right but I am going to get spanked by the end of the evening 100% by Jaya aunty for sure because I promise to you I will speak in Bangla tonight and I am going to give it a shot.
Like a true gentleman, he also added, “If I make some mistakes, please pardon. By next year, I will speak better than this. It’s like a cricket team, next time we will always do better.”
Thunderous applause followed and then he addressed everybody by saying, “Kolkatai asbo ar bangle bolbo na e ki kokhono hoy?” (I will come to Kolkata and not speak in Bengali, how can it happen?)
While Jaya and Big B shared a hearty laugh after this statement, SRK won a few extra hearts last night. His speech brought laughter and smiles on many faces as audiences oohed and aahed as the Bollywood star spoke to them in broken Bengali.
Like always, Shah Rukh sat down to a standing ovation. And Kolkata fell in love all over again!
