The makers of Namaste England dropped the 2nd song of the film, Bhare Bazaar, yesterday. Apart from the foot-tapping music, something else has caught my attention. And that’s not lyrics, Arjun Kapoor or Parineeti Chopra's dance or Badshah’s rap. It’s Miss Chopra’s attire.
Now, you must be thinking why would Parineeti’s hot red one-shoulder dress catch somebody’s attention? Well, let me tell you it’s not the ‘dress’ that has caught my eye but it’s the neckline that shifts from one shoulder to other, not once but many times in the video.
What? You don’t believe me? Click the video below and watch the song from the beginning:
Bhare Bazaar opens with Arjun Kapoor dancing and pacifying his Jasmeet aka Parineeti. You can clearly see Pari carrying the dress on her left shoulder. Now, fast-forward the video to 1 minute. Hasn’t the dress moved to right shoulder? If you still don’t believe me and think this is just your aankho ka dhoka then play the video again and watch from 1 minute. After a second, the same frame sees Parineeti's dress shifted to the left shoulder, again. Check these screen grabs below:
repeats at 1:08, 1:13, 1:24 and 1:31 as well. For instance, I thought this
could be a different one-shoulder dress. But I was wrong. That wasn’t the case.
It’s the same one-shoulder dress, whose neckline just keeps travelling from
left to right. Looks like the scenes were flipped while editing the song. If
they were, we wonder why, as it adds no creative value to the song. While
makers might attribute it to creative freedom, we say, it looks awkward and not
at all pleasing to the eye. It's no innovation but a glaring faux pas.
