Why Kabir Khan Is Not Directing Ek Tha Tiger Sequel

Soon after, industry circles were buzzing with questions about why Kabir was not helming the second instalment, which also stars Kat and Sallu. There were many conjectures, but as always, SpotboyE.com brings you the REAL reason.

Kabir, we hear, also wants to be the Line Producer of the movies he directs. He has been delivering hits and wants to have a say in the budget management and allocation. However, Yash Raj Films (YRF), the producer of Tiger Zinda Hai, does not allow the practice as a policy.

Secondly, SpotboyE.com has it that the filmmaker does not believe in sequels. He is against turning a film into a franchise just to encash on its popularity. If there’s a brilliant story idea, fine, but not otherwise.

In short, Tiger Zinda Hai was offered to Kabir, but it didn’t work out because of the above-mentioned reasons.

And how has Salman taken it? Says a source, "Salman has no issues with Kabir's decision. He loves him and they are like a family."

Tiger Zinda Hai will hit theatres on December 22, 2017. From the looks of it, Salman and Katrina will reprise their roles as an Indian agent and a Pakistan spy respectively. Buzz suggests that the sequel will trace Salman’s journey from 17-70 years.
