Pancholi and Athiya Shetty were conspicuous by their absence at the Zee Cine
Awards, last night. Reason: They are extremely upset with the organisers.
Here's the lowdown:
Last week, the event
organisers called them up and told them that they should keep themselves free
on Saturday, February 20, because they had nominated them for the Best Debutante
Male and Female respectively. (The two had marked their Bollywood debut with
Nikhil Advani’s Hero, last year.)
The actor duo's joy was
short-lived. A few minutes later when they went through the Nominations List,
they almost fell off their chairs.
Neither of the two had
been nominated!
So, now you know why you didn't see Sooraj and Athiya at Zee
Cine Awards yesterday.
Last heard, both are still very angry. A
friend of Sooraj says, "How could Zee Cine think that they will hoodwink
Sooraj and Athiya? Ridiculous. Award nahin dena hai toh mat doh, but don't give
false hopes at least."
