Karan Johar and Salman Khan’s combination is just not happening after Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Karan Johar has worked with all, but the one which he really wants to work with has stayed away for years together.
Shuddhi starring Salman Khan was right there in Karan’s lap, but thanks to the AIB controversy (as the reports say), Salman opted out of it! They met, they patched-up...BUT Karan’s long due desire of working with Salman Khan still remains unfulfilled!
Now we hear, that the filmmaker has is up for it once more! Working with Salman is top on his priority list. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil might not have given him the results which Karan expected, but he is a happy and positive man today, looking forward to bigger and better projects (he would be happier though if those big projects are with Salman Khan).
Karan Johar's Dharma Productions is well-established now and is no less than a media school. He mushrooms new talents and gives them opportunities to fly high. Although he has a bundle of good scripts sent by talented newcomers lying on his office desk, he can easily pick any, still Karan wants to tailor one only for Salman Khan.

Speaking to a daily in the morning about his future projects and if he would once again take a long break before he directs his next film, Karan Johar said, “Not at all. I am going to be on the sets next year around September or October for my next film. I don’t know what the film is going to be. I have a few ideas, but I assure that it will go on the floors next year and will release in 2018.”
So, it’s confirmed that Karan is not going to be away from the director’s chair for a long time, but will he wear the director’s hat this time for Salman Khan?
Karan Johar’s and Salman Khan’s relationship has been very candid and cheeky. In one of his interviews, while remembering the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai days, Karan Johar narrated a very funny incidence.
Remember the song Saajan ji ghar aaye from KKHH in which Salman looked dapper in a black suit designed by Shabina Khan. Karan recalled that Salman was against wearing this suit for the dance sequence. In fact, he wanted to wear ripped jeans and a T-Shirt to be the very unconventional dulha.
Salman has suggested Karan, “Hey, I have an idea! I’m going to wear these torn jeans and white t-shirt and I’m going to, like no f*****g dulha has ever worn torn jeans on his sagaai. And it’s going to set a trend and people are going to go mad!”

Karan who wants his stars to have a perfect attire in his movies almost fainted at this suggestion. He said, “waah waah, please it’s my first film, I beg you! Don’t do this to me; wear the black suit. It will look very nice, I promise.” (Karan literally sobbed)
Salman (who Karan guessed was not used to seeing a grown up cry in front of him) said, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don’t worry, main pehan lunga. Tu rona mat haan, main maar dalunga tujhe, tu rona mat.”
Karan and Salman’s nok-jhok goes way back in time, and we won’t ask why Karan Johar wants to relive those moments on celluloid with the Superstar once again!
