World Environment Day 2020: Bhumi Pednekar Urges People To Fight Coronavirus By Not Spitting And Defecating In Open

While under lockdown, Bhumi Pednekar has taken up the charge to spread awareness about the ill-effects of spitting in open and open defecation. On World Environment Day 2020 the actress creates awareness to fight Coronavirus.

World Environment Day 2020: Bhumi Pednekar Urges People To Fight Coronavirus By Not Spitting And Defecating In Open
Bhumi Pednekar is a socially conscious star who has come forward strongly to raise awareness on coronavirus during this lockdown. The versatile actor is now urging the entire nation to fight the COVID-19 pandemic through an anti-spitting campaign that aims to educate people. Bhumi says, “We have to defeat Coronavirus and everyone has to join hands! Leave the habit of spitting. We have to save the country! Currently, our country is under the threat of Corona and the fatal disease spreads even by spitting!”

She adds, “The way we all have come together to get associated with the Toilet campaign and pledged to make the country clean! Similarly, let's pledge to make the country Corona free, by avoiding to spit here and there.” She has become the face of this campaign for an NGO called Sambandh Health Foundation that is doing exemplary work in the field of hygiene and sanitation across the country

Further, Bhumi is also urging people to be doubly conscious of sanitation in their communities, especially during the coronavirus pandemic that’s plaguing our nation. She says, “We just told you to build a toilet with two pits in the house and, in turn, the whole country was free from defecating in the open. Open-air defecation has become even more difficult now! Use of the toilet has become the need of the hour and the Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’s love story will now be more useful, village to village, house to house!”
 
Bhumi, through a video for the initiative, requests people to keep doors of the toilets shut at all times to curb the spread of the virus and thereby protect oneself and even the community at large.
