Remember Ram Teri Ganga Maili’s Mandakini? Well, the yesteryear actress is all set to make a smashing comeback on the silver screen. Yes, you read that right! Mandakini, who had quit showbiz in 1996, is making a comeback with the music video titled ‘Maa O Maa’ featuring her son Rabbil. The upcoming song has been directed by Sajan Agarwal and it marks Rabbil’s highly-awaited debut in the industry. For the unversed, Mandakini made her acting debut with the 1985 movie Ram Teri Ganga Maili opposite Rajiv Kapoor. The film was a super hit at the box office and earned the actress instant fame and recognition.
In an interview with Etimes, Sajan Agarwal talked about the music video and revealed his thought process behind casting Mandakini. He said, “She belongs to my hometown of Meerut. Also, the song is about a mother and is titled Maa O Maa. Speaking about her comeback after so many years, Mandakini shared that she is super excited and happy to associate with Sajan Agarwal as she has known him for a long time. “Maa O Maa is a very beautiful song and I instantly fell in love with it. The best part of this song is that my son is playing the lead. We will start shooting this song by the end of the month,” the actress revealed.
‘Maa O Maa’ has been composed by Babli Haque and Meera and is sung by Rishabh Giri. Sajan Agarwal has not just directed the song but has also written the lyrics of the song, which is produced by Guruji Kailash Raigar. Mandakini is also likely to be seen in a short film, directed by Sajan.
