Zeenat Aman Opens Up About Her Eye Condition, Ptosis; Actress Says, ‘Despite The Gossip And The Questions, I Never Felt Diminished By It’
Zeenat Aman took to social media to reveal that she suffers from an eye condition Ptosis and shared an update with her fans about the same
Veteran Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman made a name for herself in the industry as one of the most evergreen beauties. She has been sharing anecdotes from her life, personal and professional, ever since she made her Instagram debut earlier this year. From sharing unseen glimpses to talking about her industry experiences, she has been taking the internet by storm. In her recent post, she revealed that she has been suffering from an eye condition Ptosis for the past four decades.
Taking to the photo-sharing app, she spoke about her experience and how she recently underwent surgery to get her condition treated. Shedding light on her eye condition, she explained that it was a result of an injury that damaged the muscles around her right eye. The 71-year-old actress added that because of Ptosis, her eyelid started drooping further, which obstructed her vision further. She further wrote, “I know for a fact that this ptosis narrowed my opportunities and made me the subject of unwanted attention. But despite the gossip, the comments, and the questions, I never felt diminished by it. It helped of course that there were always a few stalwarts that stood by me and chose to work with me still.” Aman went on to express her gratitude towards the people who helped her on this scary journey. As soon as her post went viral on social media, fans and her well-wishers from Bollywood took to the comment section of the post to wish her a speedy recovery. Abhay Deol wrote, “You’re an inspiration to so many of us. Can’t wait to start working with you!” Kajol wrote, “You are truly an inspiration. Pls take care of yourself.” One commented, “You inspire every day with your courage, resilience, and your sheer grace. More power to you Z. And get well soon.” Many others flooded the comments with red heart emojis.
For the unversed, Zeenat made her debut with The Evil Within, alongside veteran actor Dev Anand. She made a mark for herself in the industry because of her ground-breaking performances in movies like Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, Don, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Qurbani, Dharam Veer, Dostana and many others.
