After doing a few films in Bollywood, Lisa Ray vanished from Bollywood. The reason, as we all know, was the big C. She was diagnosed with the deadly disease very early in her career, but was not the one to give up so easily.
At a recent cancer awareness event, she opens up about how she managed to cope up with the disease and emerge victorious.
"Life is not a cakewalk," says Lisa. She opens up saying that when she was diagnosed with cancer, there were different thoughts in her mind; her career, her family, her friends, everything. But she understood very early that if there was anyone who could defeat the cancer in her, it was she herself. So she went ahead to do everything that was necessary.
However, one interesting fact that she reveals is that she had a lot of good things happening to her post her victory against cancer. "For one, I met the man of my dreams and got married. Who would think that such a thing would happen after cancer?" she concludes.
