Last night, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan literally stunned me with her red carpet look at the Cannes Film Festival 2017. Through the day, Aishwarya’s both appearances were disappointing, so I was not hoping for something out of the world.

The least Aishwarya can do is look beautiful and walk the red carpet with confidence, which she always does, no matter what she wears- is what I thought to myself.

And then I see a princess conquer the red carpet at Cannes 2017 and that was the diva- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She walked with poise, elegance and attitude wearing a blue couture creation by Micheal Cinco and floored us by its opulence.

Now, this is what you call Cannes ready!

Deepika Padukone, on the other hand, opted for an extremely safe bet (in my opinion it was way too safe). She wore a creation by Brandon Maxwell on the 2nd way of Cannes 2017. Deepika has the body, face and frame to carry off any cut and texture, so when I see her wearing something so basic and for lack of better words, 'boring', it’s extremely disappointing.

What Deepika wore for the red carpet somewhere reflected diva’s hesitation to go all out and experiment with her wardrobe. Hair pinned up in a neat bun- a safe option, a colour like emerald green- a safe option, one sided straight fit solid gown with a trail- again, a safe option! Thanks to so much safety, Deepika blended with those 100 others who wore something similar.

Coming back to Aishwarya, even at 43 this lady does not fear from experimenting and mind you, she has received a lot of backlash at Cannes a lot of times.

If it's Cannes, she needs to stand out and Aishwarya knows this well enough by now, guess it’s time Deepika too learns the tricks of the trade from Mrs Bachchan.

You may falter, but what’s the point in being just one of them in the crowd?
