For the longest time, mainstream fashion has left out the ‘plus-sized’ demographic, with brands and designers creating outfits limited only up to a size 16 or 18. However, things are gradually changing, and we now see representation of plus- size women, promoting inclusivity of all body shapes and sizes. It was refreshing to see Sabyasachi, one of the leading designers in India, star a plus- sized model to flaunt his creation in the latest advertising campaign. Netizens were mighty impressed, and they hailed the ad campaign.

Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and Sabyasachi’s latest ad campaign proves exactly that! The social media page of Sabyasachi posted a picture of a plus-size model flaunting a saree designed by him. The model can be seen proudly flaunting her side roles, while striking a pose for the picture. While numerous ad campaigns use Photoshop and airbrush the parts that they perceive as ‘flaws’, Netizens were happy to see that it wasn’t the case in this picture. The caption read, “The Sabyasachi 2021 Collection’, along with details for booking.
