LOOKING BACK: Priyanka, Sonam, Rishi, Shilpa...Those Who Got Trolled In 2016!

Social media is one such platform which doesn’t spare anyone, no matter how big a star you are. SpotboyE.com brings you a list of the celebs who got trolled this year for various reasons:

Shilpa Shetty:  Twitterati trolled Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty after she suggested that the literary classic 'Animal Farm' (which is a political satire) is a children's book and should be a part of school curriculum to teach kids to care for animals! #ShilpaShettyReviews was trending on No. 1!

Neil Nitin Mukesh:
Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh was made fun of after the news of his engagement to Rukmini Sahay with a picture came out! He was trolled yet again for his long name which carries name of his father and grandfather.

Priyanka Chopra:
Priyanka Chopra was trolled on Twitter for the T-shirt she wore for a magazine cover. The actress donned a top with 'Refugee, Immigrant, Outsider, Traveller' written on it. PeeCee invited the wrath of social media users who felt it was insensitive to the plight of immigrants and refugees. Earlier, the actress was trolled for her smooth armpits on another magazine cover as well!

Parineeti Chopra:
Parineeti Chopra's candid confession about the kind of men that turn her on saw the Bollywood actress getting trolled on Twitter. Twitterati went crazy trolling Parineeti Chopra for her comment on getting turned on by men who don't shower.

Bobby Deol & Ashmit Patel:
Looks like turning a DJ after failing to build a successful career in Bollywood is the latest trend in B-Town. After Bobby Deol, Ameesha Patel's brother and actor Ashmit Patel too tried his hand as a DJ and Twitter couldn't stop trolling him!

Rishi Kapoor:
He tweeted a meme which had Twitter users fuming. He was called everything from misogynistic to sexist to insensitive. The meme in question was apparently shared with him by Abhishek Bachchan. It showed a picture of Hillary Clinton coughing against the mike and the text reads, "Monika, is this right?" Rishi tweeted: 'History being checked! Tx for it ABjr. If it wasn't RIGHT, it would have LEFT a bad taste.' He's referring to Monica Lewinsky, the White House intern with whom Hillary Clinton's husband — former US President Bill Clinton — had an affair, where a cigar featured prominently in the scheme of things. The joke went terribly wrong for the veteran actor.

Sonam Kapoor & Aishwarya Rai: Sonam Kapoor chose a customised couture Ralph & Russo gown for an appearance at Cannes 2016. On Twitter, however, some of her detractors felt her outfit reminded them of rumali roti.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a bold fashion statement with a pop lilac lip colour, paired with an embellished light pink Rami Kadi dress at the 69th Cannes Film Festival in France and the purple colour just didn’t go down well with the trollers.

Ram Gopal Varma:
Ram Gopal Varma tweeted praise for actress Zareen Khan, who features in a special song 'Khallas' in his movie 'Veerappan'. Ram Gopal Varma wrote, "What I really love about Zarine is she is truly very large everywhere...especially in her heart and her lovely mind."

Sunny Deol:
A clip from the film which shows Hindu godmen ogling white tourists and using cuss words started doing the rounds on the social media network. And the Twitteratis were not pleased. They said that Sunny Deol had hurt religious sentiments.

Fawad Khan:
Fawad Khan invited a severe backlash after he shared a diplomatic stand on Indo-Pak issue. The Pakistani artiste ban in India turned out to be disaster for him. He was called 'moron' and 'coward'!

Ameesha Patel:
Ameesha recently took to the Twitter to post her hot shower picture. She was seen wearing a black swimsuit with entangled chains and a Kala Chashma. Guess Ameesha typed the caption while wearing that Kala Chashma. No wonder she jumbled the letters 'T' and 'R' on her keypad! She captioned the picture as, ‘Shower like a tockstar’. The word ‘tockstar’ instead of ‘rockstar’ made her an object of mockery as Twitterati ridiculed the actress over the same.
