Arrival Trailer Gets 1.8 Million Hits Within 20 Hours

Amy Adams’ Arrival trailer arrived on YouTube and has racked up the numbers since then. The trailer, uploaded on August 16, is all set to hit 2 million views in less than 24 hours.

The film’s plot is extremely interesting. Mysterious pods land on various locales in the world and a group of investigators are sent to find out why. Along with them is linguist Amy Adams, playing the role of Louise Banks.

The trailer promises a gritty, intense story that could add a lot more to the otherwise stagnant genre of sci-fi and aliens. This is not the first time the ‘researcher-defeats-the-
aliens’ concept has hit the screens. It has happened earlier in Independence Day (1996), where Jeff Goldblum’s David Levinson famously gave his technological inputs to help Will Smith’s Captain Steve Hiller.  But Amy Adams’ Arrival is in a much more serious tone.

Arrival is directed by Denis Villeneuve and the screenplay is by Eric Heisserer. The film is based on the short Story of Your Life by Ted Chiang. Arrival stars Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker along with Amy Adams.

The film releases on
September 1, 2016 in Venice and it hits United States theatres on November 11, 2016.
