The BRIT Awards 2021 took place recently nearly after a delay of three months. The BRIT Awards are the British Phonographic Industry's annual popular music awards. The awards ceremony was held at London’s O2 Arena and saw a big crowd of nearly 4,000 people cheering in the audience. At the awards ceremony, Taylor Swift made history. The Blank Space singer was honoured with the Global Icon Award. Dua Lipa won big while Harry Styles took home a trophy for ‘Best British Single’ for Watermelon Sugar.
Taylor Swift became the first woman and first non-British star to be honoured with the Global Icon Award. Earlier, Sir Elton John, David Bowie and Robbie Williams have been awarded this honour. While receiving the award, according to Elle, Taylor thanked her beau Joe Alwyn, Selena Gomez, and friends in a heartfelt acceptance speech. British singer Dua Lipa bagged the coveted British Album of the Year award. She also won the Best Female artist Award. At the awards, the Levitating singer also delivered a flamboyant performance with Arlo Parks.
