Fans can rejoice as the ninth installment of the high-octane actioner "Fast & Furious" is all set to release in India. When, you ask? The movie will hit the theatres on August 5. Yes, you read that right! Also known as F9, the movie will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The release of the film was pushed in India due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. F9 has already been released in the US, China, Russia, Canada, Korea, Hong Kong and the Middle East.
The movie stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Chris Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren, Ozuna and Charlize Theron. Directed by Justin Lin, it also stars rapper Cardi B. She will be seen essaying the character of Leysa.
In one of the behind-the-scenes videos of the film, Cardi opened up about her role in the film and said, "Vin Diesel reached out, and he was talking about a role. I'm like, It's freaking 'Fast & Furious'. Get me there, put me on a plane! I like the fact that I'm representing such a powerful strong woman."
Also, for the uninitiated, the Fast and Furious franchise will reportedly come to an end after the eleventh film. According to reports in Variety, Justin Lin, who directed the ninth installment of the franchise will helm the final two installments as well. He has also directed The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, and Fast and Furious 9.
