The actor passed away after a 4-year battle with colon cancer on Saturday, after which his death was condoled by his fans, friends, family members, as well as his Marvel Cinematic Universe family including Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Pratt, Robert Downey Jr and directors Joe and Anthony Russo. The heartbreaking news of Chadwick Boseman’s demise was announced by the late actor’s family in a moving statement shared on Twitter, and it has now become the most-liked tweet ever.
The statement shared by Chadwick’s family read, “It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV.” They further informed fans that Chadwick passed away and died in his home with his wife and family by his side. This final post shared from Chadwick Boseman's Twitter account garnered over 6 million likes, and soon Twitter announced that it became the most-liked tweet ever.
