Freida Pinto On Her Impromptu Wedding With Cory Tran During COVID-19 Lockdown: 'We Got Married, Went Home And Took An Afternoon Nap'
Freida Pinto explained the reason behind her impromptu wedding with Cory Tran.
Actress Freida Pinto recently appeared on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'. The actress took everyone by surprise as she revealed that she tied the knot with her fiance and photographer Cory Tran during the Covid pandemic-induced lockdown. The 'Slumdog Millionaire' actress shared that when they got engaged in November 2019, they thought they would have 'this most magical wedding' but the pandemic ruined it all.
She said, "I should clear the air. I wasn't planning a big fat Indian wedding. It was just going to be something pretty and simple... But then COVID happened and it's still happening and we just realised we were going to be planning this for the rest of our lives and probably never doing it."
Freida continued, "So we decided one day to go to the Honda Center in Anaheim (California) and just get married. Honestly, I have to say if any of you have planned a wedding, you probably know this, I do not want stomach ulcers from planning my own wedding. This was perfect! We got married and then we got to go home and take an afternoon nap." The actress also shared that she met Tran through actor Aaron Paul, her co-star in the drama series 'The Path'. She told Clarkson that she was quite happy being single at that time while shooting their TV show in New York when Paul said, "I want you in my life forever, Freida, so I'm going to introduce you to my friend." She recalled telling Paul she did not want him playing matchmaker but he still went ahead with it and "turns out I got engaged to Cory, his friend."
For the uninitiated, Freida and Tran in June revealed that they are expecting a baby. Sharing the good news, she wrote in the caption, "Baby Tran, coming this Fall!" along with a heart emoji.
