If everything falls right, California will now see a new governor in Kylie Jenner father and Kim Kardashian’s step-father Caitlyn Jenner. That’s right. Caitlyn recently took to Twitter and released an official statement where she announced her plans to run for the governor of California, seeking to replace Democrat Gavin Newsom. Sharing the statement on the micro-blogging site, enthusiastically, Jenner said ‘I’m in!’ while also saying that ‘California is worth fighting for.’
Her statement read, “California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality. But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people.” She further states, “I have been a compassionate disrupter throughout my life, from representing the United States and winning a gold medal at the Olympics to helping advance the movement for equality. As Californians, we face a now-or-never opportunity to fundamentally fix our state before it’s too late.”
She also slams Newsom by saying that 'this is not California but it is Gavin Newsom’s California where he orders people to stay home but goes out to dinner with his lobbyist friends', referring to Newsom's dinner at the French Laundry. She also mentioned that next week, she will meet Californians from across the state, to hear their voices and to get the state moving in the right direction.
