American actor Matthew McConaughey has managed to win the hearts of his fans with his fabulous acting performances in the movies. From Interstellar to films like Wolf of Wall Street, McConaughey is known for his stellar performances. It was recently that the actor turned author with the book Greenlights. Now, as the book has instances from Matthew’s life, the actor opened up about his experience of auditioning for the role of Jack in the 1997 film Titanic. He shared what really happened during his audition with Kate Winslet.

While speaking with Rob Lowe on his podcast titled Literally with Rob Lowe, according to a report in E! News, the 51-year-old actor-producer spilt the beans about his Titanic audition. McConaughey opened up about his audition and said, “So I went and read with Kate Winslet and it was not one of the auditions - they filmed it so it was like into screen test time. After we left, you know, it was one of those ones where they, like, followed me and on when we got outside they were like, 'That went great.' I mean, kind of like hugs. I really thought it was going to happen."

McConaughey shared how the audition went seemingly well, but he was not offered the role. The actor said, “For a while, I was saying like, 'Who was my - I gotta find that agent. They're in trouble. I did not ever get the offer.” During the interview, Matthew, who has worked with Titanic star and his Wolf of Wall Street co-star Leonardo DiCaprio spoke about working on the set with him. He called working on sets with Leonardo ‘gracious’. Moving on, he also recalled his time filming with the Titanic actor and said, “He wants you to win. Not everyone is like that. They don't want you to win.”
