Every fan of the sitcom Friends, around the world is eagerly waiting for the upcoming epic reunion special. Friends fans are in a frenzy ever since the cast of the show dropped announcement posts about the reunion 17 years after the last episode aired in 2004. It was recently that the trailer of the reunion special was released. It received a great response and would surely leave anyone teary-eyed yet laughing out loud. Amidst the much craze about the upcoming reunion special, a clip of Matthew Perry from the interviews with the cast has got fans worried.

People magazine released a clip recently showing interviews with the cast of Friends. The video sees the six- Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow. In the clip, Perry is seen seated alongside Matt LeBlanc and Schwimmer. He is seen staring off vacantly. During the interview, when Perry was asked if he had ever stolen anything from the set of Friends. Answering the question, Matthew Perry slurred his words and replied, “I stole the cookie jar that had the clock in it.”

According to a report in torontosun.com, after watching the promo clip, on YouTube, one fan wrote, “It’s very sad to see Matthew Perry like this.” Another added, “It hurts to look at him.” A third one commented, “He is not well at all.”


Matthew Perry has been open about his struggle with drugs and alcohol in the past. The actor had also revealed he went to rehab in 1997 and 2001, as per the report. Speaking with BBC Radio 2 in 2016, the actor had said, “Somewhere between Season 3 and 6 … I was a little out of it.” He added, “I’m a pretty private person but I was on a TV show that 30 million people were watching so people knew. It was very public what was happening to me.” In an interview with People in 2002, Perry had said, “It wasn’t my intention to have a problem with it.” He had also said, “But from the start, I liked how (painkillers) made me feel, and I wanted to get more.” The actor also cited the 1997 jet-ski accident as a contributing factor in his addiction struggles.
