Ridley Scott's ‘The Last Duel’, Starring Matt Damon And Ben Affleck, To Release In Theatres In India On October 22
Ridley Scott's medieval epic The Last Duel has been making it to the headlines since its announcement. Starring Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer and Ben Affleck, the film features a gripping tale of betrayal and vengeance set against the brutality of 14th century France. The film will be released in the USA on October 15, and the makers are also looking forward to taking the Indian theatres by storm.

The film is slated to release on October 22 in theatres across India.

The Last Duel certainly boasts plenty of fantastic talent, as evident in the poster. But owing to the current Covid-19 situation in India, the hard-hitting drama might prove to be a tough sell to audiences who hold their reservations about heading back to the multiplexes.

Interestingly, Academy Award-winning director Scott, two-time Oscar winner Ben Affleck stars as Count Pierre d'Alençon, and he co-wrote the script with Matt Damon in their first writing collaboration since Good Will Hunting, for which they both won an Academy Award.

The Last Duel features Damon playing Jean de Carrouges, who vows to defend the honour of his wife Marguerite de Thibouville, played by Emmy winner Jodie Comer. To do so, de Carrouges challenges double Oscar nominee Adam Driver to a duel, which was actually the last legally sanctioned duel in French history.

The film has received critical acclaim since its premiere at the Venice Film Festival - on September 10, 2021. With such a talented cast and crew, it's entirely possible the film could earn this cast even more Oscar nominations next year.
