Farmer’s protest in the country’s capital has created a flutter across the world as well. While Farmer’s continue to protest against the bills passed by the government, it has resulted in international celebrities talking on the topic as well.  Hollywood singer Rihanna, who is an active social media user, shared her thoughts on the farmer’s protest happening in India. The singer made a tweet and raised a hard-hitting question, reacting to a report published on the internet. She asked why a crucial issue like the Farmer’s protest has no international recognition.

Rihanna made a tweet on her official Twitter handle. She tweeted, “why aren’t we talking about this?! #FarmersProtest” The singer questioned why everyone worldwide is not talking about the Farmer’s protest happening in India. The singer’s reaction came after a report published by a news agency. CNN reported the recent violence that took place at Red Fort on Republic Day, January 26. The report was regarding the Internet that was cut around New Delhi after the protesting farmer’s clashed with the police officials. Reportedly, during the incident, dozens of officials were injured and one protestor died when a tractor overturned near Delhi police headquarters. The internet shutdown was imposed from midday to midnight on Tuesday, in areas around New Delhi.

Meanwhile, since November 26, 2020, the farmer’s in India are protesting on the borders of Delhi amidst the cold winter weather across the country. The farmer’s of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana are angry with the provisions of the 2 Farm Bills that the Rajya Sabha passed recently.
