Academy winning-actor Russell Crowe has joined the cast of Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman starring Marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder, as per a report. The Marvel film that is currently in the production phase is being shot in Australia. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale along with other cast members and crew are shooting for the sequel in Sydney. The report stated that the Taika Waititi directorial Thor: Love and Thunder will feature Russell Crowe in a cameo appearance.
According to a report in Deadline, the Gladiator actor will be starring in the upcoming Marvel film. After weeks of speculation, the report confirmed the update about Crowse joining the cast. This update came after Russell Crowe was clicked with the entire cast of the movie during a rugby game in Sydney. As Russell joined the cast of the Thor franchise sequel, he will be marking his debut in Marvel Cinematic Universe with the film in 2022. Reportedly, actor Matt Damon will also be reprising his role in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Meanwhile, Russel Crowe took to Twitter and confirmed that he is joining the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder. The actor tweeted a beautiful sunset photo, giving fans a glimpse of Sydney’s Opera House view. Apart from that, he also shared a blissful selfie with Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky. Thor: Love and Thunder is directed by filmmaker Taika Waititi and is slated for a May 6, 2022 release. The film stars Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman in reprising roles.
