Actor Joe Lara, popularly known for his role in the famous adventure movie 'Tarzan: The Epic Adventures' has passed away in a plane crash in Tennessee. The 58-year-old actor was with his wife and a few others when the private jet crashed into a lake this weekend. TMZ reported that the private jet took off on Saturday from Smyrna Airport, just outside of Nashville, and was reportedly headed toward Palm Beach, but somehow plunged into Percy Priest Lake not too long after takeoff.
After the accident, fire and other rescue crews were dispatched to the scene but the authorities told TMZ that the passengers were killed in the accident. County officials identified the victims as Brandon Hannah, William J Lara, David L Martin, Gwen S Lara, Jennifer J Martin, Jessica Walters and Jonanthan Walters.
On Saturday, RCFR incident commander Captain Joshua Sanders told a press conference, 'We are no longer in an attempt to look for live victims at this point so we're now recovering as much as we can from the crash site.' On Sunday afternoon, RCFR said on Facebook that the recovery operations had found several components of the aircraft as well as human remains in a debris field about half a mile wide.'
Joe Lara's wife Gwen Shamblin Lara founded the Remnant Fellowship Church in Brentwood in 1999. She also wrote a faith-based weight loss book. Joe Lara played Tarzan in the movie 'Tarzan in Manhattan' and later featured in the TV series 'Tarzan: The Epic Adventures'. The actor also appeared in many action movies - Steel Frontier, Armstrong, Warhead and American Cyborg: Steel Warrior. He gave up his acting career after twenty years to pursue a career in country music. As per TMZ report, Lara and Gwen have left behind three children.
